On Windows clients, when doing Exclude List entries in FP3 the files were
stored in registry much as expect (and as entered).

Example:
   *.xyz is stored as:
   *.xyz

Since starting to utilize the FP4 patches, the entries are not stored as
expected.
Example:
  *.xyz is stored as:
  *.xyz:\

Anyone have any idea why the :\ is being included in the exclude list
processing?

What brought this to our attention was doing excludes for the database files
on an MS SQL server - the database was corrupted after a backup was run with
the excludes set up for the live DB files.

Is there anyway that backup operations could perform any WRITE-based
activities to data files?
