I've never done 3-way NDMP, but I have seen mismatched speed/duplex settings
between the server's NIC and the switch bring things to a crawl.  I would
take a look at that.  I think my record for slow speeds was like 20 MB in an
hour.  Once the network was resolved, so was the backup speed.

Did you do anything other than what the manual says?  We are seeing one
filer (the one with the drive) going at max drive speed, but the 2nd filer
is going at a painfully slow rate - backing up in 2 hours what the first one
backs up in 1 minute!  
 
Anyone experienced this?
