I was getting problems with "can't open file" kinds of errors and found it
was a VxFS bug on my master server's catalog filesystem. If you've got VxFS
v3.4, make sure you're patched to current levels.

All,

Anyone seen problems like the following happen, with the client being a
Windows 2000 SP3 box, the server Solaris 8. NetBackup Datacenter 3.4.

The following is from the client bpcd log.

15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main:
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: BPCD_BECOME_USER_RQST
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: BPCD_OPEN_FOR_WRITE_RQST
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: open for write file name =
D:\ProgramFiles\VERITAS\NetBackup\logs\user_ops\Voodo006\jobs\NBWIN003.j
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: buffer length = 2048
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: our open flags = 0x119
15:14:20 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: client open flags = 0x109
15:14:20 [420.336] <16> bpcd main: couldn't open file
D:\ProgramFiles\VERITAS\NetBackup\logs\user_ops\Voodo006\jobs\NBWIN003.j for
write. errno = 2: No such file or directory
15:14:21 [420.336] <2> bpcd main: BPCD_DISCONNECT_RQST
15:14:21 [420.336] <2> bpcd exit_bpcd: exit status 0 ----------->exiting

But the file in question exists and appears to be writable.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Brian
