Craig,
This is a pretty vague question, so in order to respond (meaningfully) I
will have to ask:
1. Are you doing network backups?
2. Is this the average speed for all backups?
3. Have you ftp'ed "say a 5 meg" file to the client and back again to check
thru-put speed?
4. Have you checked that your HP server is Not Auto Negotiating but set to
100 FD?
5. Have you checked that switch ports have been set to match the master and
the client? "i.e. 100FD"
6. Is this configured on a san?
7. What type of Library and drives are you writing to?
8. Can you send me the bottom half of your /stand/system file which shows
your current kernel params?
9. How much memory is on the rp5400?
10. What is the current NET_BUFFER_SZ and SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS set to?
11. Is the rp5400 a dedicated Veritas server or does it share other
applications?
The above info would help a lot.
