you said "NetBackup backs up the very first "stream" which was not preceded by
the
NEW_STREAM directive".

If manually specifying how the streams will be broken up, you must start
the file list with the NEW_STREAM directive. If you do not, I believe
this is the behavior you'll see.

wrong:
/export
NEW_STREAM
/var
/tmp

correct:
NEW_STREAM
/export
NEW_STREAM
/var
/tmp

Greetings --

I've just discovered that NetBackup (probably all versions)
does not follow the NEW_STREAM directive for AFS backups.
No errors are indicated, but only the first "stream" specified
in the policy is ever backed up.

I've got an AFS backup policy with Multiple Streams enabled and the file
list
separated by the NEW_STREAM directive. NetBackup backs up
the very first "stream" which was not preceded by the NEW_STREAM
directive.

NetBackup does not complain about the NEW_STREAM directive, it just
thinks it's finished. The documentation for AFS backups describes 2
specific directives for AFS backups (CREATE_BACKUP_VOLUMES and
SKIP_SMALL_VOLUMES), but does not mention anything about the NEW_STREAM
directive not working for AFS backups or the fact that NetBackup
will not complain about its use in an AFS policy.
