We've upgraded to 3.5 MP1 and beware of the vxsvc (Started by
/etc/init.d/isisd) server that VEA connects to. It has a memory leak and
after a period of a day or so, became the top CPU process on our Sun
servers. VEA will also fail to connect to vxsvc after a couple of days.

Veritas is aware of this issue and the work around is to shutdown vxsvc when
you're not doing anything with VEA (/etc/init.d/isisd stop) and start it up
whenever you need to use VEA on a server.

The VEA gui is kind of flaky. I've had several instances where a Veritas
volume was mounted and it didn't show it mounted.

Other than the VEA issues, I haven't had any other problems so far.

Offhand, I'd agree with most that VEA is a step backward from VMSA. I
can't comment on VXVA because I never extensively used it.

IMHO, VEA does not have as good a layout display as VMSA, and it is
slower.

Note to Veritas or Sun: what the #%*@ is up with these Java apps like
VEA and jnbSA that they won't function correctly under mouse focus?
VMSA was a java app that worked correctly, why can't the other two?

I'm a long-time twm user (the original and current standard Xwindows
window manager) and I get very frustrated when I have to manually
lock focus on a window in order for the entry boxes to accept my
keypresses. There's absolutely no acceptable reason for this -- it
goes against basic Xwindows principles.
