Mukarram,
=20
You did not yet tell us what kind of tape/drive you're using or how they =
are
connected to the media server. (I know you mentioned SCSI to the robot =
but
that could mean just the robotic controls, no?)
If you're using DLT of sorts you might be runnning into bad tapes and/or
drives that need cleaning.

Hi All.
I am doing a file system backup of the EMC BCV disks mounted in the
Netbackup Master/Media server.
It is a direct backup. That is, the Fiber Channel disks from the EMC =
are
connected to the Netbackup Master/Media server and there is a SCSI
connection to the Robot.
I do a full Oracle backup everyday of about 68GB's. Usually the backups
take about 2 - 21/2 hours.
Occasionally about once or twice a week, they run longer and take about =
6 to
7 hours. =20
But now in the last two days, the same backup is taking 7 to 8 Hours.
I have seen the bptm and other logs and looked for any errors or
SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS full type of messages and did not find any. =20
There is no LAN/Network involvement in here ...so it is pretty straight
forward.
The Netbackup Master/Media Server is running on Solaris 7 with GigE. =
The
Robot is a STK L180.
Netbackup Version running is 3.4.1.
I searched through the mailing list archives...but no luck for this
scenario.
Any suggestions on this?
I really appreciate the response.
Thanks.
