The way this is usually done is as follows:
Configure the new DLT7000 drives as type DLT2
Create a new storage unit, referencing the existing robot but set its
density to DLT2
Create one or more new volumes with the media type set to DLT2
And there you have it. Note that unless you place these new volumes into
separate volume pools, your existing policies will happily use both the
current DLT as well as the new DLT2 volumes, but perhaps that is what you
want?
Finally, keep in mind that these steps do not account for the reading of DLT
media type (read: old DLT4000 written) volumes in the new drives. But you
won't accidentally make the system do the converse either.
