yeah, you're reading it wrong. ;-)
you can mix 4.5 GA, MP*, and FP* releases in a single environment.
(but 3.4 is not a choice...) there are two basic rules to keep in
mind:
(1) the master server CANNOT be running a revision older than any of
the media servers. (e.g. 4.5GA master + 4.5FP3 media server = a
no-no, but the reverse situation is okay)
(2) some features that depend on master-->media interaction might not
be available/functional in certain mixed configurations. Example:
4.5 FP3 includes a new "checkpoint restores" feature - but this
feature won't be available for a certain restore if that FP3 master
server is talking to a 4.5 GA media server for that restore.
