What is your hba ? Scsi or FC ?

I think that you parameter Number_Data_buffers is too high, and
Size_Data_buffers is too low (if you don't have an adaptec scsi hba).

Please let me know what sort of interface you have.

For your information, you can go up to 13-15 Mb/s with one 9840 (depend =
of
type of client,network,disk,compression etc etc)

I have 3.6 GB RAM on my master/media server on compaq DL580G with=20
windows2000

My current settings are done by previous Netbackup admin

Number_Data_buffers =3D 512
Size_Data_buffers =3D 65536

on 9840 drive max we get 3-4 MB throu put per client

Please advise is it correct?

Your suggestion sounds extreme - you'll need to have large amounts of =
free
memory available.

Beyond a certain amount, you'll not see any perforance gain - you won't =
be
able to read clients fast enough to keep near that amount full.

See the buffer tuning performance KB article to calculate memory =
footprint
for buffer size & buffer count.
