Hello Mark
=20
Let me restate what you said, so we can make sure that we are talking =
about the same thing.=20
=20
You created a qtree or directory on an netapp and are trying to nfs =
mount this on your netbackup master server for the purposes of using the =
nfs mounted disk space to hold the catalog backup.=20
=20
Yes I believe that this is supported and we do it.=20
=20
I believe your problem is that you have to add your netbackup master =
server's host name to the root clause in the /etc/exports file for your =
exported filesystem.=20
On the netapp you might try:
So if you were using a qtree of the name /vol/volume1/databasebackup=20
Then you might have something like the following in the /etc/exports =
file
=20
/vol/volume1/databasebackup -root=3Dnbuhost.yourdomain.com
=20

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Catalog backup to shared disk

Hi, I have attempted to configure a catalog backup to a disk which is =
owned
by a NetApp filer. The disk is shared and accessible to the master =
server
with full rights. The objective is to have a copy of the catalogs at an
alternative location to the master server without the requirement to =
send a
physical tape to that location.

The catalog backup fails with a permissions error.

Is this a supported configuration and which permissions should I need on =
the
shared disk and Networker Client Service?

Thanks in advance, Mark
