We did it. First make a copy of your jni configuration file in the
/kernel/drv directory. Then do a pkgrm of the JNI software and reboot to
single user. Then do a pkgadd of the new software. Compare the jni conf
file to the one you backed up. You may need to cut and paste persistant
binding entries and any other changes you made to the original (such as loop
configuration).
Basically we followed the documentation that came with the new JNI package,
and we had no issues.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] JNI Firmware Upgrade
Happy Friday!
Has anyone out there ever upgraded firmware on a JNI HBA Card? I've got
four
of them in each of four servers (total 28). The servers are SunFire V880's
running
Solaris 8. I've got brocade switches and I'm running Veritas 4.5 in a SAN
environment using SSO.
Veritas is recommending that I upgrade the firmware because it may be
causing
my media problems, but when reviewing the documentation, it looks like a
total
software install. I just don't want to mess with the configuration I have
until I
know how it may impact me.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
