Hi all,
This may be off-topic, but is still related to backups, and
some people in this group may have had experiences with
Win2K Ntbackup problem.

I have a scheduled job that starts every day, and I recycle
the same tapes previously used. The drive is a 4mm DDS from
Sony.

If I specify to use a new media, and I put a used tape, then
the log just says something like "Backup not performed
because no new media was found". And If I say to use an exis-
ting tape, then it complains the tape logical labels don't
match. And when I do a backup, it always assign the same date
(the date I created the job) and the date doesn't keep up
with reality.
The only thing that works is I specify to use new media, and
I manually erase the tape from the catalog.

The main problem is that NtBackup doesn't document well the
well-hidden command line and scripts it executes.

Anyone knows what command to automatically erase the old tape
label before performing the backup on the tape, considered as
new? How can one modify the scripts in general?

Thanks for helping...

Luc
