netbackup 4.5 supports only DES in 40 & 56 bit. there are no alternatives.
netbackup 5.0 (coming in Q3/03) will _not_ bring any new algorithms.
i was told that the reason for this is performance considerations.
doing 3DES or AES is thought to be too slow.
another reason is, that not enough customers request it.
so if you would like to see stronger crypto in netbackup,
call veritas support and tell them!
