One way to do this is to create a "cron" job on the client that calls
"bpbackup.". You can
specify a policy, a file that contains the list of files be backed up,
etc. Check your
Veritas SYS admin manual.. Then schedule the job to run via "cron" as
often as you
need. You must of couse have the Netbackup Client installed on the system
to
be backed up. Hope this helps. I can send you some sample scripts if you
like.

We have a DBA that wants to script a command line way to back up 7-8
important files a couple of times a day. She wants to do this as a part of
a script that does other things as well. Does anyone have any ideas of the
best way to do this?
Is there a way to have a local file list on the client that the client
initiated backup will reference and read through, or is there a way to
trigger from the client a class on the master server with the file list in
there? BTW, both the master server and client in question are unix
clients.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I looked through the admin guides
and couldn't find anything relative...
