I totally agree with the performance and slowness of the Java Interface. We
recently upgraded to NB 4.5 at our production environment, and I was a
little upset the Motif version is no longer supported/available and how slow
Java interface was at first. But there is alternative, maybe a better choice
to others once it's getting used to. I installed Netbackup Administration
Console on my desktop, and not only it has Java like GUI features, but most
importantly the performance is much better. And the other good thing is it's
free.

Once the software is installed, you need to update "bp.conf" on the media
servers(s) and add "SERVER" entry of the client host(where the
Administration Console is installed).

You know, using the java interface (jnbSA) over ssh and a vpn... It's so
slow, I may as well shoot myself.

Anybody at veritas listening? the Motif interface was nice and fast,
compared to this POS. How about we have that back, just for me. and anybody
else who isn't local to their master.

I can't be alone in this. Another one for the archive.
