It took our company over two years to get anywhere close to 99 %, and
even so, we're not doing it on the first try of all the backups. I have
81 clients, mixed netware, windows 2000 and nt. I don't think I can
remember a day when we didn't have at least one client that had to be
run manually the next day. One out of 81 is already more than 1 %. Even
with rerunning some backups manually, the second try doesn't always
work.
94% on the first try, if that's what you mean, sounds pretty good to
me.

Our NetBackup process is going thru an internal company audit. The
auditors
are suggesting that we achieve a 99% first success rate. We are
currently
averaging a 94% first success rate. I have not been able to find an
industry
standard metric for first try success rate for backups.

What type of success rates are others experiencing? Is anyone aware of
an
industry standard for backup success rates?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
