Thanks Arne.

Yes, the cause for it is that one of our EMC BCV disk is failing.  Working
with EMC engineer. Our establish from the Standard to the BCV was not
successful last night, hence the error in the BCV backup to tape.

That means, that the data-files of your database changed during backup (it 
chagend while the bpkar started to read from the beginning but before it 
reached the end).

Kinda.

Won't hgekp you in this case.

You CANNOT backup a database by backing up the data-files while it is
running.

Some databases cannot even be backed up by saving the datafiles, when they 
are offline.

You should make either a dump of the data and save it, or use the backup-api

the DB provides (you can do this by buying the oracle module for veritas).
