Hi,
I have 1 x STK 9840A and 4 x 9840B in the same L700 library with the =
intention=20
of using the 9840A purely for recoveries if the four B drives are in =
use, but
I'm not sure how best to configure this in NBU.
I think that if I create separate STUs and pools using hcart and hcart2 =
media
types, then NBU will never use the 9840A to restore from media written =
by
the 9840Bs. But if I add the 9840A to the same STU as the 9840Bs, there =
is
no way to differentiate between the them.
Master is Solaris 8 with NT, W2K & Solaris media servers. STK tell me =
that=20
the drives are backward and forward read/write compatible. The 9840B is
faster and has fabric login capability
I guess this is a similar problem to the mixed use of DLT 4000, 7000 & =
8000.
Any thoughts ?
TIA
D
