I've got a number of tapes that have an "assigned" date but have no images
on them & have never been mounted. This doesn't seem consistent.
Here's the vmquery output for one of them:
[root] / # vmquery -m CG0068
============================================================================
====
media ID: CG0068
media type: 1/2" cartridge tape (6)
barcode: CG0068
media description: Added by Media Manager
volume pool: UNIX_ORACLE (6)
robot type: TLD - Tape Library DLT (8)
robot number: 0
robot slot: 90
robot control host: europa
volume group: L700E
created: Tue Oct 08 11:46:52 2002
assigned: Wed Oct 23 14:01:34 2002

expiration date: ---
number of mounts: 0

status: 0x0

Here's the bpimmedia output showing no images on it:
[root] / # bpimmedia -mediaid CG0068
no entity was found
Perhaps unrelated, these tapes might have been used when this master server
was one named something else. The master server was rebuilt & renamed, the
catalogs & configs abandoned and remade, and the tapes just rediscovered.
Is there potentially a bplabel issue?
An attempt to "bpexpdate -deassignempty" failed on this and every media
server.
