At our environment, we used to have a whole environment for our "extranet"
servers.
These servers were used for e-commerce and do not have interaction at all with
the production network.

Now, my problem is that we have to get rid of this environment and I would like
to backup these "extranet" servers to my production environment.

Our network people allowed the traffic on the router for the regular NBU ports
in order to communicate with them.

bpcd 13782/tcp bpcd
bprd 13720/tcp bprd
vopied 13783/tcp vopied
bpjava-msvc 13722/tcp bpjava-msvc

At the beginning, we thought that will be enough, however it's still not
working.

Checking at the logs, NBU is using all kind of ports to get communicated.

For example, on my master server the test dropped these log entries.

17:33:32 [4736] <2> getsockconnected: host=gw.kellogg.com service=bpcd
address=..... protocol=tcp reserved port=13782
17:33:32 [4736] <2> getsockconnected: Connect to gw.kellogg.com on port 620
17:34:32 [4736] <16> bpcr_connect: bpcr_connect timeout during select after 60
seconds on port 824
17:34:32 [4736] <16> bpbrm start_bpcd: timed out trying to connect to
gw.kellogg.com

And on the client, the first test
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd main: offset to GMT 18000
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd main: setup_sockopts complete
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd main: output socket port number = 824
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd peer_hostname: Connection from host sunp03.kellogg.com
(.....) port 620
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd main: Peer hostname is sunp03.kellogg.com
17:33:32 [9881] <2> bpcd main: Got socket for output 5, lport = 874
17:36:54 [9881] <16> bpcd main: Couldn't connect to address .... port 824:
Connection timed out

The second test,
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd main: offset to GMT 18000
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd main: setup_sockopts complete
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd main: output socket port number = 778
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd peer_hostname: Connection from host sunp03.kellogg.com
(....) port 537
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd main: Peer hostname is sunp03.kellogg.com
18:00:21 [15138] <2> bpcd main: Got socket for output 5, lport = 893
18:03:42 [15138] <16> bpcd main: Couldn't connect to address .... port 778:
Connection timed out

ON every test, ports seem to be different.

Do I have to enalbe a range of ports to allow backups to run ?

Any ideas might be of help.
