The Java Client still freezes at times without modifying the jnbSA. On
windows it is better to use Windows MFC Admin console. But you have to
define that machine as a server in your master's bp.conf.

You didn't say, but it sounds like you are displaying the whole GUI via
an X session on an NT box from the HP master. I would suggest running
the client locally. I've gotten decent speed running a locally-installed
java client on my Sun workstation, then connecting to the master this
way. If you are running NT, it would be better for you to run the native
Windows GUI. If you are running an OS on your workstation which supports
the java GUI (Linux?), install and run it locally.

Hi!

What makes the JAVA gui in netbackup 4.5 so slow? (besides java...)
The server is a K460 with hpux 11.00, 2 cpu (180Mhz), 512 MB memory, 1
GB swap.

I have patched the server with all recommened patches.

To the client where i run X, the is 100 FD connection.
The client is a P4, 1,7Ghz with 256 MB memory.

Regards Hampus Lind
