I know NetBackup allows us to do this but what function is available to
determine which physical tapes have reached their expiration date? We're
thinking about putting a 2-year life on our new tapes so we can be pro-active
in replacing them as they reach end of life. However, I didn't see anything
within NetBackup or it's basic reporting functions that allow for displaying
which tapes are coming due. Seems sort of strange to build in a feature and not
build in a way to track it.
Let me guess: Run a vmquery, sort by date and write a script to report findings?
NBU Environment:
Sun E450 Master/Media Server
STK L700 w/8 DLT8000 drives
Solaris 2.8
NBU 3.4 w/Patch Level 3
