[Veritas-bu] Poor Backup Performance

I have also wrestled with these issues. I have a win2k server that gets
about 100-300KB on a backup. I thought it was just the type of data,
but copied the data to a different server and get 1000-1200KB. Not a
real efficient backup scheme :) What kind of h/w do you have? Mine is:

Compaq DL580
2 700MHz Xeon
2.5 GB RAM
Compaq NIC's
Compaq HBA's - although they are Emulex LP8000's.
Compaq HSG80-based SAN
Cisco Catalyst 5500 100Mb switch

Thanks,

Pat
Are you using Compaq HBA cards at all? Its weird because I am not
totally
convinced it's a hardware issue, but starting to wonder if:

(A) NT is screwed
(B) Driver issue with the Hardware on board this Server
(C) Netbackup mis-configuration.

Hopefully we can all work together, and see if we can resolve this issue

Thanks

All,

I am having similar problems, also with Compaq equipment. Could you
please
send any suggestions to me as well. BTW, our problem doen't appear to be
connected to any one system. One system got 11000KB/sec one night and
5000KB
the next. We are using Cisco routers, if that helps any.

Pat
