Hello Everyone
You may recall a thread last week, regarding severe poor performance on
Backups on my Master Server.
At the time it looked like there was an I/O issue with one of our Compaq
arrays.

Well this weekend, a brand new 4100 Compaq Array arrived! This was connected
to our VIXEL Fibre switch and we created a standard Windows NT Partition.

Using the SCOPY command, we chucked over several GB's of Data.
>From the Master Server we performed a backup, using NEW BACKUP POLICY - to
my sheer horror, the backup throughput is still crap!!! We are getting
around 4 - 700k a seconds, sometimes 800 at a push!!

The data on this array is simply files/folders, uncompressed (ie: word
documents, DB files, excel, PPT, jpeg, ect! All offices files really).

Now I am at a big big loss!!! The main trouble is that to perform a full
backup of our server last week took 4 1.2 days to backup 550GB Data! Totally
unacceptable.

I have also tried doing a backup from our Media Server, who shares the same
storage unit (Multihosting) but although the throughput starts off quick
(2.3mb second, then 1.4mb second) it then drops off to around 600k/s -
similar to what we get on the Master Server.

I really am looking for some help now. I have spent an awful long time
trying to figure this out, and I admit I am not the best in the world where
Netbackup is concerned! At first I thought it was hardware related, but even
when I try to backup the Masters C: Drive, throughput is still pretty poor!
Again starts off good, and then drops off!! The Server also has a G: Drive
inserted into the machine itself (18GB Drive) and again, throughput is poor.

Is there anyone with any help or suggestions?

Thanks very much for any input!
