sorry, should have explained myself further.

The reason you do the bpimport is so that you can first of all get the MEDIA
into the media server's mediaDB, since we aren't required to do so with the
disk image we only need to do the "other" part or the PHASE 2 of the import
and that is populating the imageDB with the information required to restore.
So since both of you have the image on another machine, it make your lives
much easier by only having to ftp or rcp, the directory over.

Now, I haven't tested this, but I have been working with NBU since
Version1.6, so if its behaviour is consistent in this area, this should work
without issue.

Let me know how it goes if you don't mind, just send me a note directly.

Thanks
David

I have a similar situation with an offsite DR project. I thought
importing the tapes might be an option if it did not take too long. The
problem with recovering the catalog is the configuration of the storage
units and clients that are at site B get blown away.

Thanks,

I'm attempting to transfer an image from one system to another.

I thought that backing up to a disk storage unit and then tranferring
the
files created might be the easiest way. If I can import them sucessfully

then I can duplicate them to tape.
