One class, two schedules, two exclusion lists, one include list.
Class backup filelist=/
Sched_1: frequency = daily, backup window is six days a week
Sched_2: frequency = daily, backup window is one day a week (the above
missing day)
Make exclude lists:
/../netbackup/exclude_list.Class.Sched_1
/
/../netbackup/exclude_list.Class.Sched_2
/oracle/backup
Make include list:
/../netbackup/include_list.Class.Sched_1
/oracle/backup
Six days a week, when Sched_1 runs, the exclude list will exclude the entire
filesystem but the include list will add back in /oracle/backup.
The remain day of the week, when Sched_2 runs, the class filelist will be
"/" but the exclude list will leave out /oracle/backup
Alternately, you can do this with two classes. Once class is daily with
/oracle/backup as a filelist, the other class is weekly with "/" as a
filelist.
Does this meet your needs?

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Scheduling problem !
Hi Folks !
I need to set up the following schedule for a client.
1. Daily full backup of just /oracle/backup directory at 5:00 AM
2. Weekly full backup on friday night excluding /oracle/backup directory.
Now my problem is "the frequency of the full backup" in both the schedules.
If I set the frequency to 1 day, my weekly full backup will not run because
one full backup might have run in the early morning(/oracle/backup). I'm a
bit confused here.
What are your thoughts? How can I achieve this schedule?
Thanks,
- Karun
