/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmoprcmd -d ds

This will give you the drive status. If you need to get the status of a
remote host just add -h <hostname> to the end of the command.

Does anyone know what the "command-line" command is to get the status of a
tape
drive (up or down)
Our DLT7000 drives get "downed" frequently and I would like to setup a
cron job
that can get the status
of the drives and email our operators.

     Thanks
