Subject: [Veritas-bu] Error 41 After Writing to Tape

Master & Media servers NB 3.4 with patch NB_34_3, Solaris 2.6. L700 tape
robot.

I have several NT clients which have started to return status 41 (network
connection timed out) AFTER completing writing to tape. This only occurs on
filesystem backups for these boxes, the backup of SQL*Server databases on
the same servers is successful.

07/31/2002 22:43:00 - connecting
07/31/2002 22:43:00 - connected; connect time: 000:00:00
07/31/2002 22:43:10 - mounting DU0978
07/31/2002 22:46:00 - mounted; mount time: 000:02:52
07/31/2002 22:46:00 - positioning to file 27
07/31/2002 22:47:10 - positioned; position time: 000:01:08
07/31/2002 22:47:10 - begin writing
07/31/2002 23:48:00 - end writing; write time: 001:00:55
(41) network connection timed out

This SEEMS to have started since I applied patch NB_34_3, but is not
affecting all of the servers to which I applied this patch, so this may be a
red herring.

Has anyone seen anything like this before & has any ideas what is going on?
I have also logged a call with Veritas Support.

thanks for any info, Phil
