If there's files that only root can read, ie: rwx--x--x (with root
ownership) then they won't get backed up.  It'll also lead to problems with
resetting of file inode information (like atime).

The only way to guarantee that everything gets backed up is to run NB as
root.

May I know, is it possible to restrict root from running Netbackup?

What we intend to do is to create an account specially for NetBackup. No
other account, not even root can run Netbackup.

Pls kindly advice.
