Bob,
As long as Netbackup can backup and restore the System State Data, it should
be fine.
Netbackup talks about restoring everything back to how it was, and this
should include AD, permissions, SAM, Registry, Machine ID, ect!

I believe there are notes on the Microsoft Site that talk about backup and
restores of AD.

You need to be pretty familiar with AD before you try it. I don't know
enough to tell how to restore ad, but I know it's more AD expertise than
NBU knowledge that is needed to do a restore of the directory.

I haven't, but I would assume that if Netbackup backs up the System
State
Data, then that is your Active Directory backed up!
