[Veritas-bu] sun L1000 in AVR control

I had this problem, too. There's a technote on drives going AVR mode.

As described, this fix worked for me only temporarily. They kept dropping
offline enough that I wrote a script to watch and alert me when they went
down again. Eventually I rebooted the server and that seemed to keep them
up.

Hi,
i run netbackup 3.2 on solaris 8. Media server and backup server are same
machine tpf-pbs1.
I have come to look at the backups this morning and they have failed by
timing out error 196. When i look at the device manager with the gui all the
drives are in AVR control, and there are jobs waiting in the pending
requests section.
tailing /var/adm/messages gave me this :-
