[Veritas-bu] Restoring to false filesystem

I just did a restore of 300G of data and it took almost 24 hours.  That's
awful performance.

I want to test tape read speeds and don't want a receiving device to slow
the test.

Has anyone every used a rename file with bprestore to restore files to a
null-device like /dev/null?
