I am testing the backup speed on the network as compared to local . I am 
getting bit strange results.
I have master server (E250 450MHZ 256 RAM - solaris 8 Netbackup 3.4 data 
center) having DLT8000 . the Other machine (Sun 220 R , 750Mhz dual proceesor 
with 1G Ram - Solaris 8)  is on the network acting as media server plus some 
oracle databases ( Oracle is silent ) nobody is using it. 
When i try to take local backup of oracle files on the media server i am 
getting around 6 Meg/sec speed. where as when i  took backup on the network 
using my master servers's DLT 8000 tape drive i am getting around 10 Meg /sec 
speed. ???? Network backup i sFAST???????
Both servers have the  same setting of 64 Meg for data buffer and network 
buffers sizes . NUmber of buffers are 8.
2jobs /client. multiple streaming enable fro that class.I have more then 8 
samples . every time Network Backup i sfast as compared to local.
Any thoughts will be highly appriciated
