The values, other than "QUEUE_ON_ERROR/WAIT_IN_QUEUE", are
TIMEOUT_IN_QUEUE, RE_READ_INTERVAL, and BPTM_QUERY_TIMEOUT.
These paramters are all added to bp.conf.
TIMEOUT_IN_QUEUE is the parameter than determines the wait
time for a re-queued job.
RE_READ_INTERVAL is the parameter that bpsched uses to see if
storage units are available. The default time is 5 minutes.
BPTM_QUERY_TIMEOUT is the parameter that constantly counts the
number of available drives. It is every 8 minutes by default.
Hope that helps,
Robert Richardson.

Larry was kind enough to give me some information on retries. I'm wondering
if there's something strange in my configuration.
The behavior I see is that NetBackup retries rapid-fire - if I say "4
retries in 6 hours" it will try all four as fast as it can - usually in less
than 10 minutes.
I tried setting it to "1 retry in 1 hour". I set up a test with a 12 hour
window and I turned off the client's bpcd to make sure it failed. Window
opened at 9:20am it tried at 9:21, 9:24, 9:28, and 9:31 before finally
failing. The wakeup interval is 10 minutes.
I'm wondering
(a) why it only tried 4 times if I said 1 time every 1 hour (I'd expect 12
tries),
(b) why it tried 4 times in 11 minutes,
(c) how I can change it, and
(d) if these entries in the bp.conf I inherited play a role - I don't find
them mentioned in the sysadmin guide:
QUEUE_ON_ERROR
WAIT_IN_QUEUE
Neither have any values - they appear just as I showed. Anyone know what
they are?
Thanks all!
