All "logo'd" DLT Type IV tapes are either FujiFilm or Maxell, regardless of
who has slapped their name on it.

I seem to have better luck with Maxell. I have talked to others that seem to
have better luck with FujiFilm.

Seeing that these are the only two manufacturers, one could guess that
FujiFilm makes up somewhere between 35% - 65% of the market. With the market
share split like this, I really doubt that one is superior to the other or
more people would be talking about it more often.

I'm running Datacenter 3.4 on an Ultra 60 with Solaris 8, using an ADIC
Faststor DLT7000 and Fujifilm DLT4 tapes. I'm also using the
on-board/built-in SE SCSI controller that comes with the Ultra60 to attach
the ADIC. I'm getting SCSI timeout errors:

'timeout': giving up

All my Netbackup and Sun patches are current and correct. My firmware is all
up to date as well. Sun and ADIC tell me it's not a good idea to have an
autoloader hanging off of the onboard SE SCSI port and that that is what is
causing my timeouts and subsequent backup failure. Has anyone heard of this
before? Also have you had any timeout issues while using fujifilm tapes on a
quantum dlt7000?
