Fellas,
I'm going to be upgrading a master server from Solaris 2.6 to 8. I
currently have netbackup 341_2 installed. My upgrade path kind of looks
like this:

0. Remove the netbackup pkgs.
1. Deport the Vm diskgroup on which netbackup is installed.
2 Blow away the rootdisk and install solaris 8 from scratch.
3. Install vm.
4 Import the diskgroup that NBU is installed on.
5. Install netbackup pkgs and patch it to the original patch level.
6. Delete device configuration out of netbackup with tpconfig
7. Add the devices just deleted.
8. Put back all (or restore) the original customized scripts.
9. Voila!
10.?

When I upgraded from netbackup 3.2 to 3.4, I had to remove the old
netbackup pkgs and then installed the 3.4 packages. This was a scary
process because for sure I thought removing nbu pkgs would also remove
all or part of the nbu database, but all the critical database files
were never touched, so I'm going along the same assumption that since
the installation of solaris won't touch anything in the nbu partition,
the critical nbu database files, will stay intact. Can anyone tell me if
I'm missing critical steps in this list?

Thanks
robert johannes
