There is no support under NBU 3.4 for the IBM 3494 Magstar robotics =
control
on Windows 2000.=20
=20
As we were informed by Veritas after attempting to utilize a Magstar on
Win2K:
With NBU 3.4, robotic control of TLH (e.g. 3494) libraries is supported =
by
NT 4. While direct robotic control of the library is not supported on
Windows 2000 systems, they can use the library - the robot definition =
can be
configured such that robotic control is provided by another system =
(either
NT4, AIX or Solaris). We've done this configuration already with the =
systems
associated with the lab environment.
NBU 4.5 will provide Windows 2000 support for direct control of TLH
libraries.
Regards,
Kate

Hello All
We are going to connect IBM 3494 robot with 3590 fiber drives to =
Windows
2000 Netbackup server. The library already used by mainframe and will =
be
shared between the mainframe and the netbackup.
It's not clear from media manager administrator guide, if we need to =
install
additional IBM software on the Netbackup server or if IBM ATL API is a =
part
of the netbackup software. Has anybody experience with such =
configuration?=20
I would appreciate any information about the configuration (which =
software
to install, known limitations, possible problems =85). =20
Regards,
             Daniel.
