What type of backup are you trying to run?
Is there a firewall involved?
Had a similar problem with a oracle database on a client through a firewall,
and turning off multiplexing in the schedules in the class for the client
helped a lot...

Emne: [Veritas-bu] Sun L280 not writing.

I have hooked up my SUN L280 to a win2k box to create a new master &
media server for another location.

I have installed NBU 3.4 and upgraded to 3.4.1 and patches to 3.4.1_2

The windows box sees the L280 robot and tape drive with no problems.

robtest.exe lets me move tapes from slots to the drive and back again with
no probs.

The problem is when I go to backup a client, it mounts the tape on the
L280 and NBU says its mounted and has positioned to a file on the tape and
says 'being writing' but nothing happens.

The display on the L280 shows 'drive idle' and the gui on client in the
status window shows nothing happening.

The client is a win2k box which also is patched to most recent patch
levels as well.

Any ideas as to why data isnt being written to the drive ?
