Do you have bar code rules for your cleaning tapes? Are they in the "none"
pool? (trying to write to a cleaning tape will down the drive and netbackup
will try another drive with the cleaning tape again, sometimes until all the
drives are down.)

I have an ATL P3000 with 9 drives in it. 3 are direct scsi coneect to
the master server and 6 are fiber connected to a Vixel switch and netapp
filers. For no apparent reason all drives go to a down state, but not
simultaneously. It can be up to 4 hours difference between the first
drive going down and the last.

ATL has been out and is looking at data they collected but I wanted to
know if anyone here has had this problem. The only thing that seems out
of place is an entry in the messages file on the master server regarding
avrd. Here it is in it's entirety:

Oct 21 03:02:49 master avrd[435]: Error in Semaphore Operation - Result
too large

The ATL FE had never seent hat before either.

All drives are DLT7000, FC230 card for fiber connected drives, Solaris 7
on E250 for master server.

Thanks.
