I should have mentioned that the basic network connectivity is there. I can
ping from either direction and get a return without a problem. Because of the
nature of Novell 4.11 (it doesn't use DNS) I had to add /etc/host entries on
every Novell server for my NetBackup servers. One of the first things I
verified was they were still there. I also added an entry in the /etc/host file
on the NBU server for the Novell Target, specifically pointing it to the
correct IP address (although there were no problems getting to the server
before I did this) and it also had no effect.

I've seen this when the client /etc/hosts file does not have an entry for
the server.
