I've never seen NetBackup do an auto-create larger than six characters. I
have manually created a media id with eight...
And I have had labels with greater than six characters on them and it simply
cut the preceeding numbers/letters off.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] configurable media ID generation
I'm having trouble getting the new configurable media ID generation
working on my Netbackup server. I'm running Netbackup Datacenter on a
single Windows 2000 server. I installed the NB_341_1 patch and placed
the following line in my vm.conf:
MEDIA_ID_BARCODE_CHARS 0 8 1:2:3:4:5:6
Robot 0 contains LTO media with barcodes like 000001L1, 000002L1,
etc. However, media IDs of 0001L1, 0002L1, etc. are still being
generated. What am I missing?
