Buddy,

The two are different:

ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES will backups only those filesystems that have the same type
as
/. However, you have the ability to allow multi-streaming so that the
backup
of each drive can run at the same time.

/ will backup everything under /, and you must select the "follow cross
mounts"
to backup your other drives. This is a more safe option (safe because if
your
drives are a different type they will still be backed up), but slower.
NOTE: This will not follow NFS unless specified.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES vs. /(root) and cross mount
points option

Hello all,

Im new to Netbackup and was wondering if the two options listed above behave
the same in Netbackup?

My fear is that the option of specifying / and to cross mount points make a
restore of separate data partitions a pain. Is this the case or does the
ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES specification essentially do the same thing?

TIA,
