John,
I ran into this problem some time ago and it was because some log files
are not being pruned. Specifically, try pruning (set up cron job to rm
older than 31 days) the following:
/usr/openv/volmgr/debug/daemon
/usr/openv/volmgr/debug/reqlib
I cut my NBU DB in half when I pruned these two directories.
