I have a 3.2 Solaris server running solaris 7. The oracle database and
repository are 8.1.6. We have installed the oracle agent for netbackup
version 3.2. on the master server and the database server.
We have been using the supplied backup scripts that come with Netbackup and
modifying the necessary environment variables.
The problem is that although we have tested rman to disk, the backups to
tape are not working. I have linked the library libobk.so to netbackups'
libobk.so.1 library. The errors are something to the effect of cannot write
to sequential file.
** Oracle's metalink has a copy of information exactly related to my error
message and points their finger at Veritas. ** Note below.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi. The key error is:
ORA-27028: skgfqcre: sbtbackup returned error
ORA-19511: sbtbackup: Failed to open for backup.
NetBackup (sbtbackup) returned the error reported in the ORA-19511. At this
point, you need to contact Veritas support for assistance in determining why
the backup piece cannot be opened.
Other users of the forum who may have encountered similiar errors are
welcome to provide input.
Regards,
Helen
