It does take time to import back into your db. Its a two step process.

I've done it with 8mm and DLT neither were delightful.

Hi,

What are the implications if i send a tape(monthend tape) offsite and i
don't send a copy of the catalogue backup with it? I'm guessing that if i
needed to restore an offsite tape, i would have to merge the tape back
into the database. Since i currently am sending 2 8mm AME tapes offsite,
i'm guessing it shouldn't tape that much time to merge the tapes.

Karl
