Actually, if you look under
/usr/openv/netbackup/client/Solaris, Solaris8 is a symlink to Solaris2.6.
When you installed the client, have you used install_client? If you
installed by any other means, the bp.conf needs to be synced from the
master to the client. I'd recommend reinstalling the failing client from
master using
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client <client_name>
