[Veritas-bu] Inconsitencies in NetBackup DBs

bpexpdate with option -force fails with the same messages as without
-force.
How can I determine which mediaserver has the tapes assigned?

do youo have multiple media servers? if you do you have to issue the
command from the media server or on the master specifying the -h with the
media server name this should delete it from the database
if that doesn't work then do bpexpdate with the -force option

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Inconsitencies in NetBackup DBs
Hi all,
I've found some inconsistencies in our NBU databases. There are 9 tapes
which are shown as assigned in media manager. They was assigned in 1999 and
should have been deassigned in 2000.
As described in "Media Manager System Administrator Guide" I tried
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpexpdate -d 0 -ev tapenr
which fails with the message
requested media id was not found in NB media database and/or MM volume
database
The Media Contents Report of xbpadm shows images with an expiration date in
1999 or 2000.
Maybe the cause of this problem is that we deinstalled a media server in
2000?
How can I deassign the tapes (I don't need the images anymore)?
