[Veritas-bu] Frozen media
2001-05-29 15:31:59
You might be able to look in /usr/open/netbackup/db/media/errors file to see
what types of tape errors have been happening, and when, but I don't think it
will tell you if the error caused the tape to be frozen or not. You might be
able to see a pattern to determine if you have a drive going bad or not. The
R.O.T. on frozen tapes I believe is NBU will freeze it if he kicks it down
three times (I'm guessing). Perhaps one of the Veritas gurus can elaborate?

I just ran a media summary report and it listed 41 tapes as frozen. How
do I find out why? These tapes were most likely frozen a while back (I
ran the report because my db images were growing faster than expected).
Thanks.
