Hello all,

We've been starting to experience some extremely bad netbackup behavior
and I was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this occur in their
shops..

We have some volumes that have been having their full backups complete
successfully (exit status 0) but they are only backing up a small portion
of their data..

example:  we have a 250GB volume that just completed a full backup
"successfully" with status 0, but it only reported backing up 7GB of
data..  we have an assortment of volumes that are occasionally silently
failing like this..  they will fail randomly, backing up all of the data
the next time around but occasionally running into this issue..

to catch these failures we have put into place a script that will compare
the amount backed up (from bpclimagelist) to the actual data on that
volume via df after every full backup runs..

we have veritas looking at it, but so far they have come up empty so I was
just curious if anyone else has ever seen such disturbing behavior from
netbackup..

currently, we're running netbackup 3.4 on solaris 2.6 backing up VxFS
filesystems on solaris 2.6 fileservers using a storagetek 9710 and 8 DLT
7000 drives..
